How a Virtual Assistant could help with… travel

October 15, 2010

There are many ways a Virtual Assistant can make your travel, particularly business travel run smoothly and the longer you work with a Virtual Assistant, the more they will be able to do for you.  Some of the ways a Virtual Assistant can help make your travel plans run smoothly are:

Bookings:

A Virtual Assistant can organise all your bookings for a trip.  They can book your flights, hire cars, accommodation, meeting venues and equipment, restaurants and any make other bookings you need.

A Virtual Assistant who you work with regularly will know if: you have credits from an airline, when they are due to expire, which have specific conditions and they can ensure you use them in time and at the best times for you.

A Virtual Assistant you work with regularly will know your preferences so can try to book your preferred airline, with your preferred seating, hire your preferred vehicles and so on.

A Virtual Assistant should be able to help keep track of your frequent flyer miles and make sure they’re used whenever possible, and to make sure they don’t expire

Diary:

A Virtual Assistant will have knowledge of your schedule while you’re away, so can reorganise travel or appointments with a minimum of fuss.

A Virtual Assistant will be able to make sure that all your bookings are correct in your diary, particularly when there are multiple time zones to take into consideration.

If you’re travelling a lot for an extended period, your phone can be transferred to your Virtual Assistant and they can take your calls for the day.  That way you won’t have endless calls to return when you arrive, and many of the calls will be able to be sorted by the Virtual Assistant.  Details of any calls that do need to be returned can be sent to you in an email or in texts.

Problems:

If your Virtual Assistant has organised your travel, they’ll then have  a copy of all booking receipts and details so if there are any problems – there’s a very good chance your Virtual Assistant can sort them out for you while you continue with your day.

So if you travel a lot for business, consider using a Virtual Assistant to make the bookings and keep everything running smoothly.
